Since the audio from the On-Air studio has been coded and broadcasted, WOLF measure and certificates signal alteration and decay through the broadcast path, and reports real time information and alerts whenever any detected parameters should be under the selected threshold, eventually switching between main and emergency sources.
In typical broadcast installations a master WOLF unit is placed at the end of the On-Air studio audio path, and constantly compares all the signals to the WOLF slave units, situated on each local antenna tower; each local unit performs accurate audio monitoring, and manages complex changeover features both for local and studio audio signals.
